Maths 0-8 PLD (Days 1 - 4)
PLD to support the implementation of the revised Mathematics and Statistics Learning Area for years 0 – 8 of the NZ Curriculum is available nation-wide from 2025. Facilitators are available to come to a school, or group of schools, to deliver PLD. An online option is also available.
Applications for Term 2 dates close on the 14th March.

Number Sense to Algebra
Number and Algebra are often taught as separate topics yet are the same strand in the curriculum. How can we springboard into algebraic thinking using number activities? We will explore a few number tasks and calculation ‘tricks’ that can be used in a mixed level class to promote generalising number to algebra.
Curriculum Progress Tools and the Numeracy Co-requisite
The Curriculum Progress Tools can be used to help inform if students are ready for the Numeracy US co-requisite. In this workshop we will explore two aspects of the Learning Progression Framework (LPF) (Multiplicative thinking and Interpreting statistical and chance situations) to show how the progressions and the PaCTool can support teacher knowledge and OTJs.

All Ten (online game): Use all four numbers once each to make 1 through 10 using the given operations.
Set game: (online game) or pack of cards. Make a set of 3. A SET consists of 3 cards in which each of the cards' features, looked at one-by-one, are the same on each card, or, are different on each card. All of the features must separately satisfy this rule.

Just in Time Maths 2022
Throughout 2022 over 250 schools have participated in the Just-in-Time Maths initiative. This initiative supports schools in designing a balanced rich diet through immediate and intentional approaches that optimise use of existing resources for planning, teaching, differentiating, and assessing.
